13 dead from the hills in Manipur landslides, 11 bodies of Army

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 1 July 2022: At least 13 army personnel from Darjeeling and Sikkim are killed in the massive landslide at a railway construction site in Manipur’s Noney district and many are still missing. 
Officials informed the district authority that dead bodies of army soldiers, 9 from Darjeeling, one from Sikkim and one from Duars are being sent to their homes with full military honour. The mortal remains of 11 Gorkha Jawans who lost their lives in Manipur landslide will arrive at Bagdogra airport on 2 June in two flights at 9.30 am and 10.30 am received by the army and district officials and sent to their respective homes for funeral.

5. Rifleman Ladup Tamang of Magarjung Nagari TE Mirik (2/1 Gorkha Rifles)
6. Lance Naik Bishal Chhetri of Danradhura Murmah TE, Mirik (13 JAK Rifles/ 64)
7. Rifleman Benjamin Rai of Gairigaon DP Side Teesta Valley Lower (5 Assam Rifles)
8. Havildar Bedhyan Rai of Gaurishankar TE Kurseong (15 JAK LI)
9. Havaldar Milan Tamang of Gairi Gaon Rohini Kurseong (18 DOGRA RIFLES)
10.Rifleman Shankar Chhetri of Kherkata Busty Mangrupara Sukhani Basty Nagarkatta Jalpaiguri (3 Assam Rifles /64)
11.Naik Tshering Lepcha of Kayam Lingden North Sikkim (12 Rajasthan Rifles) 

The other two who are reported dead are Dipakar Pradhan of Lower Negi Goke Darjeeling and Umesh Limbu of Jinglam Teesta Lower DP Side (Missing).
