Two students score 693 out of 700 and top Madhyamik 2022, Kalimpong is in the second position to have a pass rate of 94.71 per cent

This year too, East Midnapore tops the list of district-wise pass percentage

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the Class X Madhyamik 2022 results and the list of toppers on June 3.

According to the board, Arnab Gharai of Ram Haripur Ramakrishna Mission, Bankura and Raunak Mandal of Burdwan CMS School have jointly secured the first position with 693 marks out of 700. Their aggregate stands at 99 per cent. Mousiki Sarkar from Malda and Raunak Mandal from Ghatal, East Midnapore, have secured second position with 692 while Ananya Dasgupta from Asansol and Debshikha Pradhan from East Midnapore have secured the third position with 691 marks. Abhishek Dutt and Srutarshi Tripathi have bagged the fourth position in the exams with a total of 690.

This year, a total of 114 students have made it into the Top 10 List declared by the WBBSE. According to the official board announcements, the overall pass percentage recorded this year stood at 86.60 per cent. Of this, pass percentage for boys stood at 88.59 per cent while that of the girls was clocked at 85 per cent. In a different trend this year, boys have performed better than girls.

About 11.8 lakh students appeared for the exams this year of which around 6 lakh were girls.

District-wise pass percentage

This year too East Midnapore has topped the list of regions with a passing rate of 97.83 per cent. Kalimpong, West Midnapore, Kolkata have a pass rate of over 94 per cent, while that of North 24-Parganas is 91.98 per cent. The pass rate of South 24-Parganas is 89.08 per cent and that of Jhargram is 92.59 per cent.
