Anit Thapa promises to open dialogue on Gorkhaland through GTA

YOWAN MOTHAY, EOI, KALIMPONG, JUNE 18, 2022: President of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha Anit Thapa said on Saturday he would open dialogue on Gorkhaland through the Gokhaland Territorial Administration assembly, should the BGPM win the GTA elections. 

Addressing an election meeting in Kalimpong, he said: "Once the people give their mandate to me, I will build the future of the hills. Our position is clear. GTA is a system. I will make it clear that I will work closely with the government. I will open the dialogue for Gorkhaland from the GTA. I am not saying that I will bring Gorkhaland. But the Gorkhaland Construction Committee should be formed and a person should be sent to Delhi."

He said Anit Thapa was not a leader who had been given public mandate till now. On the other hand, Ajoy Edwards was a leader who had got the mandate four times. They would have to show the "report card" to the people. He appealed to BGPM workers in Kalimpong who had left the party to return to the fold of the party.
