TT Bureau | Siliguri | 24.05.22 : Ajai Singh, the inspector-general of north Bengal frontier of the Border Security Force, on Monday flags off a mobile canteen at the headquarters in Kadamtala, on the outskirts of Siliguri.
The initiative has been taken to provide canteen facilities to retired BSF personnel as well as retired personnel of other central armed police forces and their families who live in the highland areas of Kalimpong, Kurseong and Darjeeling.
The mobile canteen will travel to different areas in the hills every month and the retirees and their families can get various household items, including grocery and stationery.
Earlier, they had to travel to Kadamtala to buy those items.
