Darjeeling hospital to soon have CT scan facility

SNS, DARJEELING, 2 APRIL 2022: The Darjeeling District Hospital will soon have the CT Scan facility, according to the president of the hospitals Patient Welfare Committee, Amar Singh Rai.

According to Mr Rai, steps have been taken after he took up the matter with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In a press release Mr Rai said, "In May last year, I had written to the Bengal CM, demanding that a CT Scan (machine) be installed in the District Hospital here, as people were facing a lot of problems due to the absence of it. People had to go to Siliguri and private nursing homes to make avail of it, which proved to be expensive for them."

"The state government had issued a tender for which the process is own. The company, Eskag Sanjeevani Pvt Ltd, has already started work for it," he said, while adding that this would prove to be a great relief for the people.

According to a letter front the state department of Health and Family Welfare to the company, they have to commence patient service within three months from the date of signing of the Concession Agreement with the hospital authorities. This agreement has to be signed within:30 days from the issuance of Letter of Award (LOA) on 31 March this year.
