Dhanbad Police are yet to officially confirm the arrest but sources confirmed the arrest of Banti Khan besides Banti’s accomplice Irfan alias Tunnu from Allahabad. The arrest was made on the basis of a tip off with the help of Railway police while the duo was travelling by train.
Notably, Nanhe Khan, a Wasseypur based property dealer was shot dead on November 24 last year by several criminals while he was heading towards his home on his bike. A video clip of Prince Khan, younger brother of Banti Khan went viral on the evening of November 24 itself in which he took responsibility of the murder and also claimed that it was carried out out as a revenge of the murder of another property dealer, Asraful Hasan alias Lala Khan which took place on May 12 last year.
Lala Khan was close to Prince Khan, Banti Khan and their two other brothers Godwin Khan and Gopi Khan and four were nursing grudges against Nanhe Khan, who was a close aide of Iqbal Khan, elder son of Fahim Khan.
Though Fahim Khan’s son Iqbal Khan and Fahim’s four nephews, Prince, Banti, Godwin and Gopi earlier used to work together as a gang extorting money from traders, property dealers and railway contractors they later parted ways with each other over the booty distribution in form of extortion money.
Notably, Dhanbad police acting swiftly after murder of Nanhe Khan arrested altogether 11 persons including two shooters, Mahtab Alam alias Rahman and Dickey Ansari besides, Nasreen Khatoon, mother of Prince Khan on November 30.
Police were also on the look out for Prince Khan and his three brothers, Banti Khan, Gopi Khan and Godwin Khan ever since the murder of Nanhe Khan and today arrested Banti Khan and his accomplice Irfan alias Tunnu during train journey between Mughalsarai to Allahabad at Allahabad Railway station.
