Sikkim Democratic Front calls out fake Facebook account

Rajeev Ravidas | TT | Siliguri | 06.02.22 : The Sikkim Democratic Front lodged an FIR against an unidentified person at the Sadar police station in Gangtok on Saturday for operating a Facebook account under the name of Khabadar Abhiyan, by using the name of the party and the photograph of its president and former chief minister Pawan Chamling.
A release issued by the SDF vice-president (administrative affairs), Dev Gurung, said the messages in the fake account was likely to misrepresent and misinform the public about the ideology of the party, and sought police action against the culprit.
Gurung also said this particular account was not the official Facebook account of the party. “Such false representation and misinformation will unnecessarily defame and adversely affect the political and ideological stand of the SDF.”
