KalimNews, Kalimpong, 31 January 2022: For the last few days all the districts of north Bengal have been reporting a sharp decline in new Covid-19 cases.
Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
1 died:
Nupur Saha, 76 yr old of Sharada Palli Falakatta, Alipurduar died today in Covid Block of NBMCH.
138 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 308 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 138 tested positive.
56 in SMC:
56 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (45 in Darjeeling and 11 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
148 in Darjeeling district:
148 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 45 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
21 of the Hills (3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 9 in Bijanbari, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)
82 of the plains (22 in Khoribari, 26 in Matigara, 17 in Naxalbari, 7 in Phansidewa, 10 in Sukuna) also test positive.
58 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 58 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 42 patients, 23 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 19 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There are 4 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 12 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and none in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in surgical isolation ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre).
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
52 Discharged:
52 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
