MP & agencies | 8 Jan 2022 | Kolkata: Rain is likely in southern West Bengal next week from Tuesday to Friday, due to a western disturbance and moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal, the weather office said on Friday. Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur in northern West Bengal as well from Wednesday to Friday, it said. The unseasonal rain is likely to cause damage to standing crops and vegetables, it said. Prices of vegetables, which are already high in retail markets of Kolkata compared to usual prices during the winter, may increase further owing to the rain, as per market sources.

12.01.2022 -14.01.2022-Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur over the districts of South Bengal.
North Bengal
12.01.2022 - 14.01.2022-Light to moderate rainfall with hailstorm at one or two places is very likely to occur over the districts of North Bengal.
Possible Impact:
1. Damage to horticulture and standing crops& vegetables in the field.
2. Reduction in visibility due to rainfall activity,

1. Crops in final stage may be harvested before 11.01.2022.
2. Drain out excess water from the crops field.
3. Do not use fertilizer & pesticides as It may wash out.
