
More relaxation on Covid restriction: 75% instead of 50 % attendance in all including public gatherings

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 31 January 2022: The revised restriction order issued today vide no. No-753/XXII-ISS/2M-22/2022 dated 31 January 2022 states the following.
Whereas, in order to contain spread of COVID-19 pandemic, state government vide order No 753/XX-ISS/2M-22/2020 dated 15/01/2022 read with subsequent orders notified certain restriction and relaxation measures and advisory in terms of the provisions under Disaster Management Act 2005 read with West Bengal Epidemic Disease, Covid-19 Regulations 2020, which are in force till 31/01/2022.
Whereas, after a review of the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, State Executive Committee of West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority recommended to continue with the current restrictions in force and allow graded relaxations as necessary.
Accordingly, in terms of the provisions under Disaster Management Act 2005 read with West Bengal Epidemic Disease, Covid-19 Regulations 2020, restriction and relaxation measures and advisory as already in force vide aforesaid orders stand extended up to 15/02/2022.
Further, following additional relaxations are hereby notified with effect from 01/02/2022:
i) Schools shall open for class VIII to XII from 3rd February 2022.
ii) Classes for V to VII will be conducted through Paray Shikshalaya from 3rd February 2022.
iii) Colleges, universities, technical colleges/ ITIs/ polytechnics etc shall open from 3rd February 2022.
iv) Metro train and local train services may operate with 75% of the seating capacity.
v) All government offices including public undertakings shall function with 75% of total employee strength.vi) All private offices and establishment may function with 75% of total employee strength.
vii) All indoor and outdoor sports activities will be allowed with 75% of the capacity of the venue.
viii) Cultural, administrative and social programmes will be allowed with 75% of the hall / venue capacity.
ix) Restaurants and bars may remain open with 75% of the capacity at a time.
x) Cinema halls and theatre halls may operate with 75% of the capacity at a time.
xi) Parks, entertainment parks, zoos, museums and tourist places may open for visitors with 75% of the capacity.
xii) Marriage and other related social functions shall be allowed with 75% of capacity of the hall/ venue.
xiii) Salons, beauty parlors, gym, spa and wellness centres may operate with 75 % of the capacity at a time.
Movement of people and vehicles and public gatherings of any kind shall be prohibited between 11 pm to 5 am. Only essential and emergency services shall be permitted.
Wearing of masks, maintenance of physical distancing and health & hygiene protocol must be followed at all times.
Employers/ management bodies / owners / supervisors of all offices, establishments and work places shall be responsible for provisioning of all COVID safety measures including regular sanitization of work places and COVID appropriate norms.
District administration, police commissionerates and local authorities shall ensure strict compliance of the stated directives. Any violation of the restriction measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under Indian Penal Code.
