514 in Darj, 100 in Darj Hills, 278 in Plains, 182 in SMC tests positive, 55 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 2429 samples- 702 tests positive, 470 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
17 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) is admitted from Coochbehar in pediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,
15 (1 suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery. 
Presently 4 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

702 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 2429 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 702 tested positive.
 
182 in SMC:
182 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (136 in Darjeeling and 56 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 
 
514 in Darjeeling district:
514 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 136 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
100 of the Hills (27 in Darjeeling Municipality, 18 in Kurseong Municipality, 9 in Mirik, 25 in Bijanbari, 15 in Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Takdah)
278 of the plains (44 in Khoribari, 126 in Matigara, 46 in Naxalbari, 47 in Phansidewa, 15 in Sukuna) also test positive.263

55 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 55 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 25 patients, 16 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 9 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 
There are 7 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 13 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 7 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and 3 in surgical isolation ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre).
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

470 Discharged:
470 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
