373 in Darj, 60 in Darj Hills, 140 in Plains, 198 in SMC tests positive, 46 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 917 samples- 374 tests positive, 202 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 14 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH

18 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) are admitted in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,

27 (none suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery. 

Presently 17 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

2 child died:

In the NBMCH, 2 child died of other ailments.

374 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

Out of 917 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 374 tested positive.

 

198 in SMC:

198 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (173 in Darjeeling and 25 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

373 in Darjeeling district:

373 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 173 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

60 of the Hills (13 in Darjeeling Municipality, 13 in Kurseong Municipality, 9 in Mirik, 11 in Bijanbari, 8 in Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Takdah)

140 of the plains (18 in Khoribari, 58 in Matigara, 37 in Naxalbari, 6 in Phansidewa, 21 in Sukuna) also test positive.

46 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 46 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 30 patients, 21 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 9 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There is 5 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 10 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

202 Discharged:

202 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
