3 dies, 364 in Darj, 93 in Darj Hills, 103 in Plains, 200 in SMC tests positive, 55 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
3 died
Bimal Guha, 87 yr old of Fatakpukur, died today in a Private Nursing Home at Matigara Siliguri
Nirmal Ghose, 60 yr old of Aravinda Palli SIliguri, died today in RICU ward of NBMCH.
Hasina Khatun, of Islampur died today in RICU ward of NBMCH.
Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
15 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) is admitted from Coochbehar in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,
23 (3 suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery.
Presently 6 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated.
274 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 869 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 274 tested positive.
200 in SMC:
200 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (168 in Darjeeling and 32 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
364 in Darjeeling district:
364 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 168 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
93 of the Hills (22 in Darjeeling Municipality, 29 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 22 in Bijanbari, 13 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Takdah)
103 of the plains (24 in Khoribari, 41 in Matigara, 14 in Naxalbari, 15 in Phansidewa, 9 in Sukuna) also test positive.
55 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 55 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 27 patients, 16 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 11 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There are 6 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 17 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 4 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and 1 in surgical isolation ward and none in HDU (Trauma care centre).
432 Discharged:
432 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
