211 in Darj, 54 in Darj Hills, 75 in Plains, 105 in SMC tests positive, 51 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1037 samples- 195 tests positive, 256 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH

44 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) is admitted from Coochbehar in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,

 and 1 is referred from Islampur. None of them is suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) .

39 (3 suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery. 

Presently 9 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

1 child died:

In the PICU unit of NBMCH, 1 child died of ailments other than ARI and RSV.

195 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

Out of 1033 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 194 tested positive.. 

 

105 in SMC:

105 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (82 in Darjeeling and 23 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

211 in Darjeeling district:

211 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 82 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 129

54 of the Hills (9 in Darjeeling Municipality, 19 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Mirik, 10 in Bijanbari, 7 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Takdah)

75 of the plains (10 in Khoribari, 23 in Matigara, 15 in Naxalbari, 6 in Phansidewa, 21 in Sukuna) also test positive.

51 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 51 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 27 patients, 20 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 7 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There are 5 patients in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 16 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 3 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

256 Discharged:

256 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
