2 dies, 541 in Darj, 95 in Darj Hills, 208 in Plains, 287 in SMC tests positive, 46 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 15 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
61 of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital tested positive: 3 Doctors including OSD Dr. Sushanta Roy, 49 Medical (MBBS 1st and 2nd yr) students, 7 nurses 2 health (house) staff of NBMCH
2 died
Lakshaman Saha, 58 yr old of Manabari Oodlabari died today in the RICU ward of NBMCH.
Avinash Chandra Roy, 55 yr old of Phansidewa Siliguri died today in Covid Block of NBMCH.
374 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 917 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 524 from Darjeeling, 112 from Kalimpong, 374 tested positive.
287 in SMC:
287 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (238 in Darjeeling and 49 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
541 in Darjeeling district:
541 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 238 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
95 of the Hills (27 in Darjeeling Municipality, 21 in Kurseong Municipality, 13 in Mirik, 15 in Bijanbari, 12 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah)
208 of the plains (6 in Khoribari, 121 in Matigara, 36 in Naxalbari, 31 in Phansidewa, 14 in Sukuna) also test positive.
46 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 46 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 28 patients, 20 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 8 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There is 4 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 13 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
218 Discharged:
218 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
