2 dies, 231 in Darj, 36 in Darj Hills, 119 in Plains, 98 in SMC tests positive, 38 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH


Out of 470 samples- 39 tests positive, 62 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
61 of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital tested positive: 3 Doctors including OSD Dr. Sushanta Roy, 49 Medical (MBBS 1st and 2nd yr) students, 7 nurses 2 health (house) staff of NBMCH 

2 died
Atish Chandra Dey, 72 yr old of Thakurnagar, Bhaktinagar died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH. He was not vaccinated.
Tara pada Pramanik, 86 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in Covid Block of NBMCH.

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
31 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) and none suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) are admitted in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs,
24 (none suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery. 
Presently 16 Children suffering from ARI patients are being treated. 

39 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 470 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests, 39 tested positive.
 
98 in SMC:
98 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (76 in Darjeeling and 22 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 
 
231 in Darjeeling district:
231 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 76 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
36 of the Hills (9 in Darjeeling Municipality, 14 in Kurseong Municipality, 2 in Mirik, 4 in Bijanbari, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Takdah)
119 of the plains (7 in Khoribari, 88 in Matigara, 16 in Naxalbari, 0 in Phansidewa, 8 in Sukuna) also test positive.

38 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 38 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 31 patients, 25 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 7 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 
There is 2 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 3 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

62 Discharged:
62 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
