KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 January 2022: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
61 of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital tested positive: 3 Doctors including OSD Dr. Sushanta Roy, 49 Medical (MBBS 1st and 2nd yr) students, 7 nurses 2 health (house) staff of NBMCH
1 died
Ganesh Chhetri, 48 yr old of 10th Mile Kurseong died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH. He was not vaccinated.
Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
28 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) are admitted in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs, One of them is suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) and referred from Islampur. 30 (no one suffering from ARI) are released today after recovery.
Presently 16 Children patients are being treated.
2 child died:
In the NBMCH, 2 child died.
89 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 818 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from Darjeeling and Kalimpong, 89 tested positive.
96 in SMC:
96 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (89 in Darjeeling and 7 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
185 in Darjeeling district:
185 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 96 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
33 of the Hills (21 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 0 in Mirik, 5 in Bijanbari, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah)
63 of the plains (2 in Khoribari, 42 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 4 in Phansidewa, 2 in Sukuna) also test positive.
16 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 16 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 11 patients, 7 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 4 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There is 2 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 2 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and none in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
7 Discharged:
7 patients have been released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
