Don't Miss
YOWAN MOTHAY and YAWAN GURUNG, EOI, KALIMPONG / MIRIK, NOVEMBER 18, 2021: Social worker Ajoy Edwards who had recently resigned from Gorkha National Liberation Front on Friday floated in his Facebook page four alternative names for the party he had promised to float, leaving it to the people to make the choice of the name.
The four alternative names are: Jan Shakti, Janta Kalyan Party, Jan Awaaz and Hamro Party. According to information received, the name of the party preferred by the people would be made public in Mirik after a week.
'I firmly believe that I cannot bring about change alone, but together, we can do anything. And, this new beginning deserves an enthusiastic, engaged, involved community. I want you all to actively participate in the process of change because it is only with your active involvement that real progress can be made, ' said Edward.
Arbin Subba from Mirik, who has been associated with Ajay Edwards for a long time, Said: “Work is paramount and party is secondary. At present we are working without any party umbrella but according to his (Ajay Edwards’) vision, politics is necessary for social reform so the decision to launch the party was taken at the request of many supporters.”
