
670 new cases, 8029 active cases, 14 death, 764 recovery

KalimNews | November 06, 2021 : Presently the total number of active cases in the state is fluctuating, today it decreased. Today 670 fresh cases of the contagion were reported, pushing the tally to 15,97,765, the bulletin released by the state health department said. The state had reported 760 new infections yesterday. 181 new cases was reported from Kolkata, the highest among all the districts of the state.
The total number of active cases in the state decreased to 8029 from 8137. 14 deaths due to coronavirus were reported during the day, taking the death toll to 19,215. 1 death was reported in North Bengal and the rest 13 deaths in South Bengal. The fatality rate is 1.20 per cent. Yesterday the state had registered 14 Covid-19 deaths.
So far, 15,70,521 people were cured of the disease in West Bengal, including 764 in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 98.29 per cent. The positivity rate, which was 2.24 per cent yesterday, decreased to 2.21 per cent today, the bulletin said. Today, 30,281 samples had been tested for detecting the infection in the state taking the total number of such clinical examinations to 1,94,39,378 it said.
The number of people vaccinated today was 3,93,695. Cumulative vaccination till today was 8,06,43,516 of them 5,81,63,981 people were vaccinated with first dose and 2,24,79,535 with second dose.
