1 Dies, 12 in Darj, 1 in Darj Hills, 4 in Plains, 7 in SMC tests positive, 12 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH, 1 child dies

Out of 523 samples- 25 tests positive, 14 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 November 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:

1 died

Ashoke Das, 65 yr old of Kotwali Jalpaiguri died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH. 

Paediatric Ward of NBMCH

30 new children suspected to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV)  are admitted in paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during the last 24 hrs, 2 of them are suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) and 1 is a referred patient from Jalpaiguri. 23 are released today after recovery. 

Presently 18 Children patients suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) are admitted and being treated. 

1 child died

In the NBMCH, 1 child died of malnutritirion. 

25 tested positive: Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

Out of 523 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 398 from Darjeeling, 125 from Kalimpong, 25 tested positive.

 

7 in SMC:

7 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (7 in Darjeeling and 0 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

 

12 in Darjeeling district:

12 positive cases were reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 7 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

1 of the Hills (0 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 0 in Mirik, 1 in Bijanbari, 0 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah)

4 of the plains (0 in Khoribari, 2 in Matigara, 1 in Naxalbari, 0 in Phansidewa, 1 in Sukuna) also test positive.

12 admitted:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 12 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block, there are 11 patients, 8 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and 3 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 

There is 1 patient in Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and none in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH, and in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III), and in HDU (Trauma care centre) and surgical isolation ward.

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
