3 Dies, 19 in Darj, 3 in Darj Hills, 4 in Plains, 12 in SMC tests positive, 12 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH, 2 child dies
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 October 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing, and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours are as follows:
3 died
Pushpa Baidhya, 75 yr old of Mandalghat Jalpaiguri died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH.
Bijaya Roy, 26 yr old of Gadra Jalpaiguri died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH.
Baidhya Biswas, 38 yr old of Helapakhuri Maynaguri Jalpaiguri died today in the Covid Block of NBMCH.
Paediatric Ward of NBMCH
42 new children suspected
to be infected by Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) are admitted in the paediatric ward of the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) during
the last 24 hrs, 3 of them are suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness)
and 1 is a referred patient. 29 (16 having ARI) are released today after
recovery.
Presently 20 Children
patients suffering from ARI (Acute respiratory Illness) are admitted and being
treated. There are 139 beds reserved in the Paediatric Ward.
2 child died
In the
NBMCH, 2 child
died. One of them (of Islampur) died of ARI while one child (of Kalimpong) died
of low birth weight (LBW) and allied diseases.
28 tested positive: Test
report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Out of 403 swab samples
received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests - 309
from Darjeeling, 95 from Kalimpong, 28 tested positive.
14 in SMC:
14 of Siliguri Municipality
Corporation (12 in Darjeeling and 2 Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
19 in Darjeeling district:
19 positive cases were
reported in the district of Darjeeling, while 12 are from the area of
Darjeeling district of the SMC.
3 of the Hills (1 in Darjeeling
Municipality, 0 in Kurseong Municipality, 0 in Mirik, 1 in Bijanbari, 0 in
Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Takdah)
4 of the plains (0 in Khoribari, 3 in
Matigara, 1 in Naxalbari, 0 in Phansidewa, 0 in Sukuna) also test positive.
12 admitted:
In the North Bengal Medical
College and Hospital, 12 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected
Covid-19 infection in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid
block, there are 10 patients, 2 admitted to the CCU unit of the Covid Block I, and
8 in the Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical
College and Hospital (NBMCH),
There is 2 patient in Respiratory
Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and none in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH,
and in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III), and in HDU (Trauma care
centre) and surgical isolation ward.
During the last 24 hours,
no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North
Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
14 Discharged:
14 patients have been
released from Covid hospitals including home isolation patients but excluding
patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
