AIGL leader ends his fast-unto-death: lifted fast-unto death after Mr Bista's statement that a tripartite meeting would be called in September

SNS, DARJEELING. 6 AUGUST 21 : The general secretary of the All India Gorkha League (Bharati Tamang camp), SP Sharma, lifted his fast-unto death in Darjeeling today, after Mr Bista's statement that a tripartite meeting would be called in September.
Mr Sharma had launched the fast on 1 August to mount pressure on the Darjeeling MP to do something concrete on issues like the PPS.
"The Darjeeling MP today made an announcement that within 12 August, the Centre would issue letters for a tripartite meeting to be held in the first week of September, which is what we wanted. He has also said that the meeting will be held among all stakeholders and the information of what transpired will also be given through the PIB. Till now, in his two-year tenure, Bista had nothing of this sort," AIGL vice-president Vikram Adi Rai said.
