KalimNews, PR, Kalimpong, 7 July 21: CII North Bengal lauds the welfare and development oriented West Bengal Budget 2021-22 which was presented today in the Assembly.
Terming the State Budget presented by Ms Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal on 7 July 2021 as "excellent", Mr Sanjay Tibrewal, Chairman, CII North Bengal Council said that various provisions of the Budget would boost both the rural and urban economy of the state.
Mr Tibrewal added that there were many good initiatives being taken for the welfare of people and industry. One of the hallmarks of the government has been prioritising the welfare of people which is continued in the budget with the commitment to continue Duare Sarkar and Paray Samadhan twice a year, announcement of New Krishak Bandhu Scheme; Student Credit Card Scheme; Duare Ration scheme and Laxmir Bhandar scheme through direct bank transfer, he added.
The CII North Bengal Zonal Council welcomed the budgetary allocation of Rs 776.51 crore for North Bengal Development. This will boost the developmental aspiration of the region, Mr Tibrewal said. The Real Estate sector would get a boost with a 2% reduction in stamp duty and 10% reduction in Circle Rate. The waiver of Road tax till December would provide a relief to the common people, said the CII North Bengal Chair.
The Chairman extended his sincere appreciation to the government for presenting a balanced and forward looking budget for the welfare of the state. The budgetary impetus provided to the industrial sectors would definitely help them in navigating out of the pandemic hardships successfully. "It is a good sign that we would be in the growth path after dealing with the Covid pandemic," he added.
