3 die of Covid : 102 in Darj, 32 in Darj Hills, 45 in Plains, 125 in SMC test positive, 55 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1082 tests done 66 test positive, 125 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 July 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

3 Dies 

Chhotu Saha, 81 yr old of Bhajan Latabari Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH

Nitish Bose, 85 yr old of Lebu Bagan Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dulal Burman, 35 yr old of Khoribari died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

66 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1082 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 725, Kalimpong- 125, Jalpaiguri- 231, Alipurduar- 0. Of these samples 66 test positive.

33 in SMC:

33 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (25 in Darjeeling and 8 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

102 in Darjeeling district:

102 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 25 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

32 of the Hills (1 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 11 in Mirik, 8 in Bijanbari, 2 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah)

45 of the plains (12 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 1 in Khoribari, 4 in Phansidewa, 15 in Sukuna) also test positive.

55 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 55 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 51 patients of which 13 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 12 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 13 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 3 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

There is no patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 4 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

During the last 24 hours, no serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

125 Discharged:

125 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
