2 die of Covid : 88 in Darj, 31 in Darj Hills, 29 in Plains, 28 in SMC test positive, 48 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1306 tests done 64 test positive, 69 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 July 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

2 Dies 

Parul Sarkar, 81 yr old of Pradhan Nagar Matigara Investigation Centre Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Kingshuk Dhar, 52 yr old of Narendrapur Alipurduar died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri

64 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1306 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 752, Kalimpong- 178, Jalpaiguri- 202, Alipurduar- 174. Of these samples 64 test positive.

40 in SMC:

40 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (28 in Darjeeling and 12 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

88 in Darjeeling district:

88 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 28 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

31 of the Hills (6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 9 in Bijanbari, 7 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah)

29 of the plains (10 in Matigara, 7 in Naxalbari, 2 in Khoribari, 2 in Phansidewa, 8 in Sukuna) also test positive.

48 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 48 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 40 patients of which  11 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 10 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 15 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 1 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 3 in surgical isolation ward.

There are 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) but no patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, and other Isolation ward -1. 

69 Discharged:

69 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
