8 die of Covid : 337 in Darj, 124 in Darj Hills, 113 in Plains, 130 in SMC test positive, 114 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

 Out of 2022 tests done 590 test positive, 320 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 3 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

One more patient died of mucormycosis

Omkarnath Chowdhury, 48 yr old of Milanpalli Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died of mucormycosis today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Pawan Saha, 55 yr old of Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Uttam Pal, 65 yr old of Phansidewa Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Kaila Rai, 70 yr old of Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Soma Burman, 41 yr old of Shivnagar Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Kalpana Dey, 47 yr old of Mahanandapara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Sefali Ghose, 57 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Abhijit Sarkar, 55 yr old of Shantimore Hakimpara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

590 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

2022 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar. Of these samples 590 test positive. 

114 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 114 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 103 patients of which 43 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 26 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 22 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 8 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 11 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1.

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

320 Discharged:

320 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
