8 die of Covid : 223 in Darj, 39 in Darj Hills, 95 in Plains, 117 in SMC test positive, 107 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH
Out of 686 tests done 161 test positive, 348 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 7 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
8 Dies:
Bablu Sen, 42 yr old of Chayanpara Jalpaiguri died today of mucormycosis in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. Its 4th death of North Bengal due to Black Fungus.
Reba Roy, 65 yr old of Shantinagar Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Akbar Ali, 53 yr old of Fulbari Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Suman Soren, 55 yr old of Phansidewa Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Mira Biswas, 86 yr old of Mahanandapara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Hanuman Das Agarwal, 68 yr old of Jaigaon died today in a nursing home at Himanchal Bihar Siliguri
Sanjeev Poddar, 52 yr old of Siliguri Police resident of Malda died today in a nursing home at Himanchal Bihar Siliguri.
Swami Thami, 70 yr old of Darjeeling died today in a nursing home at Matigara Siliguri.
161 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
686 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar - Total 161 samples test positive.
117 in SMC:
117 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (89 in Darjeeling and 28 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
223 in Darjeeling district:
223 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 89 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
39 of the Hills (2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 4 in Mirik, 17 in Bijanbari, 7 in Sukhiapokhari, 6 in Takdah).
95 of the plains (27 in Matigara, 31 in Naxalbari, 12 in Khoribari, 11 in Phansidewa, 14 in Sukuna) also test positive.
107 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 107 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 97 patients of which 49 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 22 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 11 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 6 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 9 in surgical isolation ward.
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 10 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1.
New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.
348 Discharged:
348 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
