8 die of Covid : 138 in Darj, 29 in Darj Hills, 71 in Plains, 57 in SMC test positive, 87 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1453 tests done 70 test positive: 147 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 15 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

8 Dies:

Parul Roy, 80 yr old of South Bharatnagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Samson Nisha, 60 yr old of Galgalia Bihar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Shanti Mondal, 70 yr old of Sukanta Palli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Gobinda Raha, 46 yr old of Uttar Jitpur Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Prarthana Chikbaraik, 47 yr old of Matelli Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Sisaram Sarkar, yr old of Jaleswari Sahudangi Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Rupen Subba, 37 yr old of Mirik Darjeeling died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Rafikul Hussain, 45 yr old of Pachkelguri Patherghatta died today in a nursing home at Kawakhali Siliguri.

70 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1453 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 691, Kalimpong- 174, Jalpaiguri- 302, Alipurduar- 384. Of these samples 70 test positive.

57 in SMC:

57 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (38 in Darjeeling and 19 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

138 in Darjeeling district:

138 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 38 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

29 of the Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 5 in Kurseong Municipality, 3 in Mirik, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 4 in Bijanbari, 10 in Takdah).

71 of the plains (39 in Matigara, 12 in Naxalbari, 9 in Khoribari, 5 in Phansidewa, 6 in Sukuna) also test positive.

87 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 87 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 70 patients of which 31 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 15 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 17 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 2 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 5 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 4 children are also admitted in the newly opened Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH having14 beds.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 13 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

147 Discharged:

147 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
