6 die of Covid : 341 in Darj, 71 in Darj Hills, 160 in Plains, 144 in SMC test positive, 114 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1598 tests done 685 test positive, 464 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 4 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

6 Dies:

Ratneswar Malakar, 68 yr old of Fatapukur Rajgunj Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Harish Chandra Roy, 65 yr old of Purva Dharamtala Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anita Sarkar, 68 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Raj Kumar Jadav, 48 yr old of Tinbatti Colony Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH

Gautam Guha, 52 yr old of Chandra Park Bardhaman Road Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

Hena Dutta Mazumdar, 82 yr old of Collegepara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Himanchal Bihar Siliguri.

685 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1598 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 652, Kalimpong- 124, Jalpaiguri- 400, Alipurduar- 422. Of these samples 685 test positive.

144 in SMC:

144 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (110 in Darjeeling and 34 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

341 in Darjeeling district:

341 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 110 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

71 of the Hills (5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 37 in Mirik, 15 in Bijanbari, 6 in Sukhiapokhari, 0 in Takdah).

160 of the plains (68 in Matigara, 34 in Naxalbari, 18 in Khoribari, 37 in Phansidewa, 3 in Sukuna) also test positive.

110 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 110 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 101 patients of which 43 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 24 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 19 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 11 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 9 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 5 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

464 Discharged:

464 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
