6 die of Covid : 296 in Darj, 132 in Darj Hills, 113 in Plains, 64 in SMC test positive, 117 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1753 tests done 480 test positive, 395 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 6 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

6 Dies:

Naresh Singha, 52 yr old of Purba Rangapani- Bagdogra Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Jahanuma Khatun, 43 yr old of Karundighi Uttar Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Nitai Sarkar, 76 yr old of Purba Dhantala, Fulbari Hat Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Achinta Karmakar, 50 yr old of Jyotirmoy Colony Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bhavani Haldar, 60 yr old of Ambikanagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Minu Ghose, 45 yr old of Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Siliguri 

480 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1753 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 586, Kalimpong- 103, Jalpaiguri- 381, Alipurduar- 683. Of these samples 480 test positive.

64 in SMC:

64 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (51 in Darjeeling and 13 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

296 in Darjeeling district:

296 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 51 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

132 of the Hills (13 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 32 in Mirik, 33 in Bijanbari, 10 in Sukhiapokhari, 36 in Takdah).

113 of the plains (45 in Matigara, 14 in Naxalbari, 6 in Khoribari, 6 in Phansidewa, 42 in Sukuna) also test positive.

117 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 117 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 108 patients of which 56 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 20 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 17 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 11 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 9 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 3 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

395 Discharged:

395 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
