5 die of Covid : 232 in Darj, 40 in Darj Hills, 115 in Plains, 113 in SMC test positive, 85 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1750 tests done 339 test positive, 304 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

7 Dies:

Gouranga Biswas, 63 yr old of Rabindra Sarani- Shantinagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Nihar Rani Barui, 65 yr old of Atharokhai Shivmandir Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Abdul Mukaddim, 82 yr old of Khargram-Behrampur Murshidabad died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Anjali Rai, 42 yr old of Samsing Tea Estate Matelli Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Nirmaya Tamang, 70 yr old of Sukhiapokhari Darjeeling died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri. 

339 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1750 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 787, Kalimpong- 88, Jalpaiguri- 304, Alipurduar- 571. Of these samples 339 test positive.

113 in SMC:

113 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (77 in Darjeeling and 36 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

232 in Darjeeling district:

232 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 77 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

40 of the Hills (2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 5 in Kurseong Municipality, 5 in Mirik, 11 in Bijanbari, 6 in Sukhiapokhari, 11 in Takdah).

115 of the plains (39 in Matigara, 38 in Naxalbari, 12 in Khoribari, 15 in Phansidewa, 11 in Sukuna) also test positive.

85 patients in NBMCH: (314 +14 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 85 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 81 patients of which 29 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 17 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 16 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 3 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 4 children are also admitted in the newly opened Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH having14 beds.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours,6 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 2 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

304 Discharged:

304 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
