KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 June 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
5 Dies:
Aloka Roy, 71 yr old of Bidhanpalli Atharokhai Shivmandir Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Uttam Paul, 29 yr old of Nishigunj Coochbehar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Badami Devi Sahani, 70 yr old of Paschim Dharamtala Phulbari Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Shital Chandra Nandi, 85 yr old of Shreerampur Assam died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.
Jagadish Chandra Sarkar, 75 yr old of Adarpara Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
170 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
1140 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 612, Kalimpong- 117, Jalpaiguri- 286, Alipurduar- 125. Of these samples 170 test positive.
48 in SMC:
48 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (36 in Darjeeling and 12 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
127 in Darjeeling district:
127 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 36 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
52 of the Hills (5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 5 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 7 in Bijanbari, 1 in Sukhiapokhari, 33 in Takdah
39 of the plains (8 in Matigara, 4 in Naxalbari, 3 in Khoribari, 7 in Phansidewa, 17 in Sukuna) also test positive.
86 patients in NBMCH: (362 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 86 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 80 patients of which 35 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 21 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 15 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 2 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 5 in surgical isolation ward.
Beside this 2 children are also admitted in the newly opened Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH having14 beds.
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 6 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 1 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 5 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1.
240 Discharged:
240 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
