7 die of Covid : 201 in Darj, 39 in Darj Hills, 93 in Plains, 96 in SMC test positive, 89 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1853 tests done 341 test positive, 420 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

7 Dies:

Bijali Mahanta, 75 yr old of Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Kamal Indiwar, 51 yr old of Bhisti Jote Bagdogra Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Jiwan kumar Chhetri, 66 yr old of Pradhan nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Kshitis Chandra Goswami, 65 yr old of Rabindra Sarani Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Phul Kumari Rai, 76 yr old of Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dipali Bhowmick, 60 yr old of Dasrath Palli Sevoke Road Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Palan Das, 57 yr old of Das Dargah Kotwali Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

341 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1853 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 851, Kalimpong- 167, Jalpaiguri- 329, Alipurduar- 506. Of these samples 341 test positive.

96 in SMC:

96 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (69 in Darjeeling and 27 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

201 in Darjeeling district:

201 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 69 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

39 of the Hills (6 in Darjeeling Municipality, 2 in Kurseong Municipality, 5 in Mirik, 11 in Bijanbari, 8 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah).

93 of the plains (38 in Matigara, 37 in Naxalbari, 0 in Khoribari, 10 in Phansidewa, 8 in Sukuna) also test positive.

89 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 89 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 81 patients of which 32 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 19 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 20 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 6 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours,8 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

420 Discharged:

420 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
