3 (1 each of Salbari, Mal Bazar and Hyderpara) die of Covid : 128 in Darj, 41 in Darj Hills, 64 in Plains, 29 in SMC test positive, 54 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1444 tests done 62 test positive, 135 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 June 2021: Reports received from Darjeeling district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

3 Dies 

Md Khairul Basir, 60 yr old of Purba Dalgaon Mal Bazar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sisir Ranjan Ghose, 49 yr old of Hyderpara Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Hemant Kumar Rai, 65 yr old of Salbari Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri

62 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1444 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 1039, Kalimpong- 146, Jalpaiguri- 206, Alipurduar- 54. Of these samples 62 test positive.

29 in SMC:

29 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (23 in Darjeeling and 6 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

128 in Darjeeling district:

128 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 23 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

41 of the Hills (2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 6 in Kurseong Municipality, 8 in Mirik, 3 in Bijanbari, 0 in Sukhiapokhari, 22 in Takdah)

64 of the plains (24 in Matigara, 13 in Naxalbari, 9 in Khoribari, 2 in Phansidewa, 16 in Sukuna) also test positive.

54 patients in NBMCH: (364 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 54 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 46 patients of which 18 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 10 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 6 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 4 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 7 in surgical isolation ward.

Beside this 1 children are also admitted in the Pediatric Covid Block of NBMCH.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 8 serious patients are being treated in the two Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There is no patient in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in other Isolation ward -1. 

135 Discharged:

135 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
