15 die of Covid : 206 in Darj, 41 in Darj Hills, 117 in Plains, 81 in SMC test positive, 99 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1825 tests done 168 test positive, 253 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 8 June 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

15 Dies:

Seema Oraon, 32 yr old of Indong TE Matelli Jalpaiguri died due to mucormycosis today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. His death due to Black Fungus is fifth death.

Nur Bahadur Chhetri, 75 yr old of Sukuna Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Bikash Thapa, 37 yr old of Batabari TE, Chalsa Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Raj Kumar Chhetri, 80 yr old of Sushrutnagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Bimal kr Sarkar, 86 yr old of Hyderpara Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Bharati Roy, 72 yr old of Ward No 9 Alipurduar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Gyanendra Burman, 48 yr old of Phansidewa More Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

P Kishore Kumar, 46 yr old of Coochbehar died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Navami Mohan Roy, 70 yr old of Rabindra Sarani Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Subal Chandra Das, 82 yr old of Rangapani Phansidewa died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Ratiram Oraon, of Purba Vivekanandapalli Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Rupa Chatterjee, 55 yr old of Ramkrishnapalli Islampur Uttar Dinajpur died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Prafulla Burman, 59 yr old of Raigunj died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Sova Maitra, 57 yr old of Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Bijay Krishna Sarkar, 73 yr old of Ashrampara Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Kawakhali Siliguri.

168 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1825 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 834, Kalimpong- 209, Jalpaiguri- 377, Alipurduar- 405. Of these samples 168 test positive.

81 in SMC:

81 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (48 in Darjeeling and 33 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

206 in Darjeeling district:

206 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 48 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

41 of the Hills (3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 6 in Kurseong Municipality, 8 in Mirik, 14 in Bijanbari, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah).

117 of the plains (41 in Matigara, 35 in Naxalbari, 1 in Khoribari, 21 in Phansidewa, 19 in Sukuna) also test positive.

99 patients in NBMCH: (314 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 99 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 91 patients of which 39 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 20 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 14 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 8 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 10 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 8 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 5 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

253 Discharged:

253 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
