9 persons die of Covid; 408 in Darjeeling district, 43 in Darjeeling Hills, 168 in Plains, 267 in SMC test positive, 87 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH
Out of 1682 tests done 562 test positive, 77 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 1 May 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
7 Death:
Sushanta Sarkar, 61 yr old patient of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died this morning in Male Medicine Ward 2 of NBMCH.
Sandhya Das, 60 yr old patient of Bharatnagar SIliguri died today in Female Medicine Ward of NBMCH.
Bhanumati Sarkar, 77 yr old patient of Krishnanagar Colony Sahudangi -Jalpaiguri died today in HDU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Sadhana Biswas, 60 yr old patient of Eastern Byepass Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Abdul Sattar, 70 yr old patient of Dharmagaj Maulani, Guabari- Chopra died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. Admitted on 26 April.
Nirmala Shukla, 70 yr old patient of Bhagalpur Bihar died today in RICU Ward of NBMCH.
Pran Krishna Nandi, 47 yr old patient of Islampur today in a nursing home in Sevoke Road Siliguri
Anup Chakraborty, 50 yr old
patient of Hakimpara died today in a nursing home in Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.
Tapas Deb, 62 yr old
patient of Deshbandhupara died today in a nursing home in Kawakhali.
Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
Total number of swab samples received for Reverse Transcription RTPCR Tests from the districts of Darjeeling- 814, Kalimpong- 196, Jalpaiguri– 291, Alipurduar- 381 is 1682.
Of these 562 samples test positive.
267 in SMC
267 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (197 in Darjeeling and 70 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
408 in Darjeeling district:
Record 408 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 197 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
43 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (5 in Darjeeling Municipality, 13 in Kurseong Municipality, 7 in Mirik, 8 in Bijanbari, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah).
168 of the plains (68 in Matigara, 27 in Naxalbari, 25 in Khoribari, 36 in Phansidewa, 12 in Sukuna) also test positive.
87 patients in NBMCH
87 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 64 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 9 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).(Capacity 203 seats)
During the last 24 hours 14 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 4 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 6 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward.
77 Discharged:
77 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
