4 die of Covid : 315 in Darj, 103 in Darj Hills, 94 in Plains, 141 in SMC test positive, 139 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1534 tests done 606 test positive, 357 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

4 Dies:

Parbati Saha, 49 yr old of Shantinagar NJP Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tara Muni Das, 45 yr old of Ghughumali Bhaktinagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Baby Sarkar, 40 yr old of Indirapalli Atharokhai Kadamtalla Naxalbari died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Sonam Lama, 72 yr old of Patherghatta New Chumta Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

606 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1534 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 572, Kalimpong- 86, Jalpaiguri– 166, Alipurduar-710. Of these samples 606 test positive.

141 in SMC:

123 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (118 in Darjeeling and 23 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

315 in Darjeeling district:

315 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 118 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

103 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (21 in Darjeeling Municipality, 29 in Kurseong Municipality, 9 in Mirik, 27 in Bijanbari, 12 in Sukhiapokhari, 5 in Takdah,).

94 of the plains (45 in Matigara, 25 in Naxalbari, 7 in Khoribari, 8 in Phansidewa, 9 in Sukuna) also test positive.

139 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 139 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 127 patients of which 50 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 31 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 30 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 6 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 10 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 12 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

357 Discharged:

357 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
