17 die of Covid : 633 in Darj, 89 in Darj Hills, 253 in Plains, 396 in SMC test positive, 142 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1409 tests done 810 test positive, 487 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

17 Dies:

Matibul Islam, 65 yr old of Mahananda Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bharati Singha, 50 yr old of Tiknikatta Sushrutnagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Hari Chhetri, 40 yr old of Garidhura Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Renu Bala Mondal, 50 yr old of Gwalpukur Uttar Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tulsi Rani Paul, 45 yr old of Champasari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Nilam Devi, 30 yr old of Bagdogra Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Biren Das, 65 yr old of Suryasen Colony Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Suraj Gurung, 49 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Manobala Mullick, 85 yr old of Hyderpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Shriti Kana Roychowdhury, 70 yr old of Shantigram Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Shanti Singha, 55 yr old of Bidhan Nagar Phansidewa Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Rekha Shil, 63 yr old of Gomasthapara Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Namita Saha, 57 yr old of Ashrampara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sukheswari Rava Das, 75 yr old of South Barokatta Alipurduar died today in a nursing home at Check Post Siliguri.

Pullack Das, 74 yr old of Subhaspalli Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Arabindo Dutta,  69 yr old of Bhaktinagar Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

809 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1410 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar - Total 809 samples test positive. 

396 in SMC:

396 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (291 in Darjeeling and 105 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

633 in Darjeeling district:

633 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 291 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

89 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (11 in Darjeeling Municipality, 22 in Kurseong Municipality, 17 in Mirik, 18 in Bijanbari,12 in Sukhiapokhari, 9 in Takdah,).

253 of the plains (81 in Matigara, 77 in Naxalbari, 22 in Khoribari, 45 in Phansidewa, 28 in Sukuna) also test positive.

Municipality, 

142 patients in NBMCH:

142 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 60 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 25 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 21 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 13 in HDU (Trauma care centre)

During the last 24 hours 18 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 15 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 2 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

487 Discharged:

487 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
