17 die of Covid : 631 in Darj, 122 in Darj Hills, 214 in Plains, 395 in SMC test positive, 136 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1914 tests done 383 test positive, 315 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

17 Dies:

Suchitra Sarkar, 40 yr old of Kawakhali Sushrutnagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Maya Sarkar, 54 yr old of Naxalbari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Nigendrajit Roy Chowdhury, 68 yr old of Shaktigarh Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

SN Mukherjee, 91 yr old of Babupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bhola Saha, 80 yr old of Khoribari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Hom Kumari Chhetri, 66 yr old of Kholachand Phapri Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dipen Rai, 48 yr old of Teesta Valley Darjeeling died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Rajiv Sarkar, 36 yr old of Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Geeta Sharma, 40 yr old of Shantipur Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Alimuddin, 70 yr old of Narayanpur Chopra Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

A K Ghose, 65 yr old of Patel Road Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anil Mallick, 65 yr old of Kamrangaguri New Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Evelin Ekka, 75 yr old of St. Convent Jalpaiguri Kotwali died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sikha Sarkar, 52 yr old of Shiv Mandir Road Subhaspalli Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Collegepara Siliguri

Md. Kaushal Ali, 38 yr old of Gurung Busty Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Joydeep Lahiri, 58 yr old of Shaktigarh Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Hill Cart Road Siliguri.

Nirupam Dutta, 69 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

383 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1914 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 909, Kalimpong- 132, Jalpaiguri– 484, Alipurduar- 389. Of these 383 samples test positive.

395 in SMC:

395 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (295 in Darjeeling and 100 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

631 in Darjeeling district:

631 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 295 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

122 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (8 in Darjeeling Municipality, 17 in Kurseong Municipality, 16 in Mirik, 34 in Bijanbari, 36 in Sukhiapokhari, 11 in Takdah,).

214 of the plains (105  in Matigara, 51 in Naxalbari, 19 in Khoribari, 11 in Phansidewa, 28 in Sukuna) also test positive.

136 patients in NBMCH:

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 136 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 116 patients of which 50 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 23 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 33 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 10 in HDU (Trauma care centre). 

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 20 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 14 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

315 Discharged:

315 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
