14 die of Covid : 494 in Darj, 83 in Darj Hills, 170 in Plains, 316 in SMC test positive, 140 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1410 tests done 403 test positive, 52 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 15 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

14 Dies:

Debabrata Sen, 65 yr old of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died yesternight in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Suniti Majumdar Mullick, 64 yr old of Tinbatti Colony New Jalpaiguri died yesternight in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Md. Habib, 76 yr old of Champasari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Purnima Biswakarma, 42 yr old of Mirik died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sudesh Pradhan, 47 yr old of Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bhawani Sen, of Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Rina Singha, 26 yr old of Hatighisa Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Gitashree Chatterjee, 62 yr old of Atharo khai Shivmandir Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dipak Pal, 74 yr old of Pradhan Nagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bhawani Sen, 64 yr old of Ramkrishna para Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Samar Dey, 58 yr old of Deshbandhupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Laxmi Das, 55 yr old of Green Park Mallaguri Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Hill Cart Road Siliguri.

Dr Nirmal Majumdar, 67 yr old of Subhaspalli Siliguri died today died today in a nursing home at Pradhan Nagar Siliguri.

Dilip Kumar Dutta, 72 yr old of Alipurduar died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

403 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1410 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests from the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar - Total 1410.Of these 403 samples test positive.

316 in SMC:

316 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (241 in Darjeeling and 175 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

494 in Darjeeling district:

494 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 241 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

83 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (14 in Darjeeling Municipality, 10 in Kurseong Municipality, 28 in Mirik, 19 in Bijanbari, 5 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah).

170 of the plains (98 in Matigara, 55 in Naxalbari, 5 in Khoribari, 6 in Phansidewa, 6 in Sukuna) also test positive.

140 patients in NBMCH:

140 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 52 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 36 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 40 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine) 

During the last 24 hours 12 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 7 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

52 Discharged:

52  patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
