13 die of Covid : 512 in Darj, 86 in Darj Hills, 289 in Plains, 337 in SMC test positive, 144 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH
Out of 1247 tests done 643 test positive, 337 recovered from Covid-19.
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 25 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:
13 Dies:
Manoj Lama, 56 yr old of Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Buddha Bhujel, 48 yr old of Karbia TE Kurseong died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Chandanlal Chikbaraik, 54 yr old of Mohorgaon Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Satish Sil, 62 yr old of Sushrutnagar
Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Sikha Mondal, yr old of Siliguri died

Amal Singha, 41 yr old of Chopra Uttar Dinajpur Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Nityaranjan Biswas, 52 yr old of Nandajhar Goalpukur Uttar Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.
Gulam Mustafa, 61 yr old of Dinhatta Coochbehar died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri
Madan Mohan Dutta, 93 yr old of Atul Prasad Sarani Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Hill Cart Road Siliguri.
A 90 yr old male of Darjeeling died today in Sadar Hospital Darjeeling.
A 91 yr old female of Darjeeling died today in Sadar Hospital Darjeeling.
643 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
1247 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 753, Kalimpong- 160, Jalpaiguri– 209, Alipurduar- 125. Of these samples 643 test positive.
176 in SMC:
176 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (137 in Darjeeling and 39 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive.
512 in Darjeeling district:
512 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 137 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC.
86 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (20 in Darjeeling Municipality, 8 in Kurseong Municipality, 38 in Mirik, 13 in Bijanbari, 5 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah,).
289 of the plains (140 in Matigara, 84 in Naxalbari, 34 in Khoribari, 7 in Phansidewa, 24 in Sukuna) also test positive.
144 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 144 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 129 patients of which 53 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 31 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 34 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 8 in HDU (Trauma care centre).
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 18 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 15 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1 and in surgical isolation ward.
New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.
337 Discharged:
337 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
