11 die of Covid : 453 in Darj, 98 in Darj Hills, 215 in Plains, 202 in SMC test positive, 150 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1913 tests done 587 test positive, 412 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

11 Dies:

Surendra Roy, 58 yr old of Milan More Champasari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Amina Mondal, 48 yr old of Shantinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Kartik Roy, 40 yr old of Rabindra Sarani Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Manoranjan Ghose, 68 yr old of Indirapalli Atharokhai Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sher bdr Rai, 60 yr old of Kalyan Darjeeling died today in Isolation Ward of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Subhas Chandra Sen, 79 yr old of Babupara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sudhir Kumar Kundu, 81 yr old of Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Badal Das, 43 yr old of Fulbari Hat Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Ashis Tirki, 35 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Badhuram Burman, 70 yr old of Baiakhari Matigara Investigation Centre Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

A 54 yr old patient of Darjeeling died today in Darjeeling Sadar Hospital. 

587 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1913 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 634, Kalimpong- 107, Jalpaiguri– 735, Alipurduar-437. Of these samples 587 test positive.

202 in SMC:

202 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (140 in Darjeeling and 62 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

453 in Darjeeling district:

453 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 140 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

98 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (17 in Darjeeling Municipality, 12 in Kurseong Municipality, 25 in Mirik, 20 in Bijanbari, 15 in Sukhiapokhari, 9 in Takdah,).

215 of the plains (73 in Matigara, 74 in Naxalbari, 22 in Khoribari, 25 in Phansidewa, 21 in Sukuna) also test positive.

150 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 150 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 136 patients of which 64 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 32 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 33 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 7 in HDU (Trauma care centre). 

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 14 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 5 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 9 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1 and in surgical isolation ward. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

412 Discharged:

412 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
