KalimNews, Kalimpong, 28 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

11 Dies:
Parbati Saha, 35 yr old of Sahudangi Hat Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Kanhai Karmakar, 69 yr old of Chayanpara Ghughumali Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Sandhya Manna, 60 yr old of Patiram Jote Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Anath Mondal, 58 yr old of Fakdoibari Ghughumali Bhaktinagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Babulal Rai, 52 yr old of Vivekananda Palli Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Uma Dasgupta, 65 yr old of Lower Bhanunagar Bhaktinagar Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 
Ganesh Mahadev Jadav, 46 yr old of Maharashtra (a worker of Sevoke Rangpo Railway) died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.
Kinsuk Dam, 69 yr old of SP Mukherjee Road Shivamandir Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri;
Dipankar Dam, 56 yr old of Haren Mukherjee Road Hakimpara Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.
Haripada Dutta, 84 yr old of Subhaspalli Siliguri died today in a nursing home at HillCart Road Siliguri’
A patient of Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Matigara Siliguri.

606 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH
1534 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 572, Kalimpong- 86, Jalpaiguri– 166, Alipurduar-710. Of these samples 606 test positive.

123 in SMC:
123 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (94 in Darjeeling and 29 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

329 in Darjeeling district:
329 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 94 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 
56 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (3 in Darjeeling Municipality, 15 in Kurseong Municipality, 22 in Mirik, 12 in Bijanbari, 3 in Sukhiapokhari, 1 in Takdah,).
179 of the plains (94 in Matigara, 59 in Naxalbari, 1 in Khoribari, 14 in Phansidewa, 11 in Sukuna) also test positive.

141 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)
In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 141 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 127 patients of which 50 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 31 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 30 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 5 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 11 in surgical isolation ward.
In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 14 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 
New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

465 Discharged:
465 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
