10 die of Covid : 495 in Darj, 63 in Darj Hills, 224 in Plains, 249 in SMC test positive, 150 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1991 tests done 809 test positive, 237 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

10 Dies:

12 days old girl Child of Sunita Oraon, of Mal Bazar died today in NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) Ward of NBMCH. 

Nitai Saha, 76 yr old of Ramkrishna Palli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tara Haldar, 50 yr old of Hyderpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Sunanda Sen, 74 yr old of Teknikatta Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Renu Bala Burman, 50 yr old of Matigara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Balaram Ghose, 71 yr old of Aurobindo Palli Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Saptashree Chowdhari, 32 yr old of Jagadis Chandra Road Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Prem kr Lama, 63 yr old ofBelgachi TE,  Panighatta Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Biswajit Baraik, 47 yr old of Chopra Uttar Dinajpur died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Maqbul Hussain, 75 yr old of Machkelguri Patherghata Siliguri died today in a nursing home at Matigara Siliguri

809 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1991 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 810, Kalimpong- 279, Jalpaiguri– 428, Alipurduar- 474. Of these 809 samples test positive.

249 in SMC:

249 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (168 in Darjeeling and 81 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

495 in Darjeeling district:

495 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 168 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

63 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (14 in Darjeeling Municipality, 19 in Kurseong Municipality, 10 in Mirik, 8 in Bijanbari, 5 in Sukhiapokhari, 7 in Takdah,).

224 of the plains (112  in Matigara, 60 in Naxalbari, 17 in Khoribari, 17 in Phansidewa, 18 in Sukuna) also test positive.

150 patients in NBMCH:

150 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this 65 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 28 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 29 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 10 in HDU (Trauma care centre)

During the last 24 hours 18 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 4 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 13 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and 1 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

237 Discharged:

237 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
