10 die of Covid : 217 in Darj, 63 in Darj Hills, 55 in Plains, 120 in SMC test positive, 114 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 1109 tests done 191 test positive, 272 recovered from Covid-19. 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 31 May 2021: Reports received from district administration and collected from other sources regarding death, new cases, recovery, testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

10 Dies:

Renu Das, 70 yr old of BT Randip Colony Matigara Siliguri died late yesternight in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Ramen Majumdar, 68 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tapan Roy, 72 yr old of Hakimpara Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Dipa Roy, 11 yr old of Shovabari Dhupguri Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Tilak Debnath, 67 yr old of Khoribari Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Bela Pal, 86 yr old of Aurobindo Palli Rabindra Sarani Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Anguri Begum, 45 yr old of Vivekananda Sarani Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Suklata Pal, 70 yr old of Telipara Ghughumali Jalpaiguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Ram Gopal Banik, 52 yr old of Agrani Sangha Maidan Ward No 35 Jalpaiguri died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri.

Anjijul Haque, 51 yr old of Ambika Nagar Chopra Uttar Dinajpur died today in a nursing home at Sevoke Road Siliguri. 

191 tested positive Test report received from Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at NBMCH

1109 swab samples received for Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) Tests in the districts of Darjeeling- 244, Kalimpong- 89, Jalpaiguri– 170, Alipurduar-606. Of these samples 191 test positive.

120 in SMC:

120 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (99 in Darjeeling and 21 in Jalpaiguri districts) test positive. 

217 in Darjeeling district:

217 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 99 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

63 of the Hills (2 in Darjeeling Municipality, 3 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Mirik, 23 in Bijanbari, 32 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah,).

55 of the plains (15 in Matigara, 15 in Naxalbari, 10 in Khoribari, 5 in Phansidewa, 10 in Sukuna) also test positive.

114 patients in NBMCH: (236 beds)

In the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, 114 patients are being treated for Covid-19 and suspected Covid-19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. In the Covid block there are 105 patients of which 42 are admitted in the CCU unit of the Covid Block I and 30 in Covid Block II (Chest & Cardiac Unit) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 17 in Covid Block III (Female Medicine II) and 6 in HDU (Trauma care centre) and 10 in surgical isolation ward.

In addition to this during the last 24 hours, 9 serious patients are being treated in the four Isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 3 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 6 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward (ID III) and no patient in Isolation ward -1. 

New Pediatric Covid Block is opened in NBMCH with 14 beds for children.

272 Discharged:

272 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments.
