11 death: 424 of Darjeeling district, 52 of Darjeeling Hills, 181 of Plains, 269 of SMC tested positive, 87 admitted in Covid Block of NBMCH

Out of 885 tests done 402 tested positive, 54 recovered from Covid-19.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 April 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours is as follows:

11 Death:

Sudip Pal, 48 yr old patient of Hakimpara Siliguri died last night in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. He was admitted on 11 April.

Apurba Krishna Charturbedi, 62 yr old of Ghughumali died in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. 

Suprasanna Ghose, 48 yr old of Sushrutnagar near NBMCH died in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. He was admitted on 19 April 

Mira Gurung, 56 yr old of  Kamrangaguri Dabgram Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH. She was admitted on 23 April.

Prabash Sarkar, 65 yr old of Bharatnagar Siliguri died today in CCU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Md Safiq, 62 yr old of Jyotinagar Colony Siliguri died today in RICU of Covid Ward of NBMCH.

Ram Prasad Pundit, 60 yr old of Bagrakote Malbazar died today in Male Medicine Ward 2 of NBMCH.

Satya Ranjan Pal, 59 yr old patient of Ward No.4 Mal Bazar and

Lal Mohan Das, 64 yr old patient of Ward No14 Mal Bazar died today..

A 46 yr old male patient of Chandmari died in Darjeeling Sadar Hospital.

A 65 yr old female patient of Darjeeling Municipality area died in Darjeeling Sadar Hospital

Test report received from VRD Laboratory at NBMCH

Total number of swab samples received for RTPCR Tests from the districts of Darjeeling- 516, Kalimpong- 197, Jalpaiguri –0, Alipurduar-172 is 885.

Of these 402 samples tested positive.

269 in SMC

269 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (191 in Darjeeling and 78 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

424 in Darjeeling district:

Record 424 positive cases reported in the district of Darjeeling, of which 163 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

Beside this 191 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

52 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (21 in Darjeeling Municipality, 4 in Kurseong Municipality, 5 in Mirik, 5 in Bijanbari, 15 in Sukhiapokhari, 2 in Takdah).

181 of the plains (54 in Matigara, 47 in Naxalbari, 57 in Phansidewa, 11 in Khoribari 12 in Sukuna) also tested positive.

87 patients in NBMCH

87 patients are being treated for Covid- 19 and suspected Covid- 19 infection in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Out of this, 72 are admitted in the CCU unit of the newly opened Covid Block of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).(Capacity 203 seats)

During the last 24 hours 15 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 2 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 9 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 4 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in surgical isolation ward. 

54 Discharged:

54 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments
