KalimNews, Kalimpong, 22 April 2021: Reports received and collected regarding testing and treatment of Covid patients in the different Hospitals of North Bengal including Darjeeling district and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration during the last 24 hours:

9 Death:

Pratima Tamang, 53 yr old patient of Rungbull Jorebunglow died today in RICU (Covid ward) of NBMCH 

Debashis Pal, 43 yr old of Rabindra Sarani- Purba Vivekananada Palli, Siliguri died today in CCU (Covid Ward) of NBMCH. 

Pabitra Vaishya, 55 yr old patient of Samuktala -Alipurduar died today in CCU (Covid Ward) of NBMCH. 

Anil Chanda, 70 yr old of Ward No 9- Mal Bazar died today in CCU (Covid Ward) of NBMCH. 

One 53 yr old woman of Ward No 13 Darjeeling Municipality, died in Darjeeling Sadar Hospital while another woman of Ava Art Gallery died in a private nursing Home of Darjeeling.

Dhiren Bhowmick, 75 yr old of Ward No.14- MalBazar 

Mina Chhetri, 69 yr old of Ward No.15 - MalBazar (a few days ago, her sister in law also had died of Covid)

A senior citizen of Ward No 9 MalBazar also died of Covid.

167 in SMC

167 of Siliguri Municipality Corporation (125 in Darjeeling and 42 in Jalpaiguri districts) tested positive. 

199 in Darjeeling district:

Of the 199 positive cases of the district, 116 are from the area of Darjeeling district of the SMC. 

6 cases reported from the Darjeeling Hills (4 in Darjeeling Municipality, 1 in Kurseong Municipality, 1 in Bijanbari,).

68 of the plains (45 in Naxalbari, 13 in Matigara, 5 in Phansidewa, 5 in Sukuna) also tested positive.

13 new cases, 8 release reported today from Kalimpong. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hour Kalimpong district records 13 new cases, 2386 confirmed cases of which 2276 have recovered, 28 died and 82 are active cases.

54 in Alipurduar:

54 new cases, 12 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Alipurduar records 54 new cases, 7991 confirmed cases of which 7738 have recovered and 86 died while 167 are active cases.

73 in Coochbehar: 

73 new cases, 37 release reported. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Coochbehar records 73 new cases, 12450 confirmed cases of which 12014 have recovered, 72 died and 364 are active cases.

182 in Jalpaiguri: 

182 new cases, 78 release reported from Jalpaiguri today. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Jalpaiguri records 182 new cases, 16150 confirmed cases of which 171 died while 15168 have recovered and 811 are active cases.

167 in Uttar Dinajpur:

167 new cases, 61 release reported today from Uttar Dinajpur. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Uttar Dinajpur records 167 new cases, 8217 confirmed cases of which 79 died while 7237 have recovered and 901 are active cases.

62 in Dakshin Dinajpur:

467 in Malda:  

467 new cases, 222 release reported today from Malda. State Health department’s daily bulletin states that within the last 24 hours Malda records 467 new cases, 17283 confirmed cases of which 14179 have recovered and 131 died and 2973 are active cases.

0 Discharged:

0 patients have been released from Covid hospitals that also includes home isolation patients but excluding patients in private hospitals and army establishments. 

78 patients in NBMCH

Out of total 78 patients 61 are admitted in the CCU unit of the newly opened Covid Block of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

During the last 24 hours 17 patients are admitted in the Isolation Wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). There are 6 patients in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU) ward, 8 in Gynecological Maternity Isolation ward and 3 in Isolation ward -1, but no patients in Surgical isolation ward.
