Weather Warning for the Region- Heavy rain , Thunderstorm with lightning

KalimNews, Kalimpong 30 March 2021: A cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and extends upto 4.5 km above meansealevel. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining South Andaman Sea during next 48hours. It is likely to become more marked over North Andaman Sea & neighbourhood during subsequent 24 hours. Yesterday's trough in westerlies with its axis at 5.8km above meansealevel runs roughly along Long90°E to the north of Lat.22°N persists.

1) Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

2)Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty wind with speed reaching 40 to 50Kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Sikkim.

3)Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty wind with speed reaching 30t o 40Kmph likely to occur at one or two places over SubHimalayan WestBengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

4)Heat wave likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha.

31 March 2021 

1)Heavy to very heavy rain (7-20cm) likely to occur over Andaman & Nicobar Island. 

2)Heavy rain (7-11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over Sikkim & Darjeeling, Kalimpong districts of SubHimalayan WestBengal.

3)Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty wind with speed reaching 40 to 50Kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Sikkim and SubHimalayan WestBenagl.

4)Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty wind with speed reaching 30 to 40Kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
