Former Morcha leader joins BJP- Tilak Chand Roka, quitting the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (Bimal Gurung camp) joined the BJP

SNS, DARJEELING,10 FEBRUARY 21: Tilak Chand Roka, who recently quit the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (Bimal Gurung camp) as a central committee leader, today joined the BJP in Darjeeling, along with around 74 others from different political parties.
Mr Roka had left the Morcha last month, citing differences in political ideology and maintaining that he could not support the TMC in the upcoming elections, which is the present stand of the Gurung faction.
'The main reason
for which I decided to join the BJP was to work for the two issues of Permanent Political Solution (PPS) and the demand for tribal status for left-out Gorkha communities," Mr Roka said, who added that there should be clean politics in the Hills and democracy restored.
Mr Roka, along with the others, joined the BJP today in the presence of Darjeeling MP Raju Bista at the Marwari Samity Bhawan here.
Speaking about the two issues, Mr Bista said, "The BJP will fulfill its promises. Serious work has been done on it, with me working continuously for it. There are many allegations being leveled that the MP has not done anything, and I agree there has been a delay, but it was due to an unfavourable situation there."
On the PPS, Mr Bista said that a decision will be taken at the right time and situation and that it will benefit the people of the Hills,Terai and the Dooars. He also said that the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and the Centre had an environment of positivity.
