Another Bimal camp leader quits party

Don't Miss

SNS, MIRIK, 13 FEBRUARY 21: The Siliguri-Terai Organising Secretary of the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha ( Bimal Gurung faction) and social worker, Krishna Chhetri, has resigned from the patty.

Addressing a press conference at the Mirik Press Club today, Mr Chhetri said that he, along with Anil Roka, the Bhaktinagar block committee vice-president, and party member Sanu Biswakanna, are resigning from the party due to "personal problems and issues."

Mr Chhetri added that the Morcha faction lacked in proper co-ordination among its members and that the newly-appointed leaders in the party are not taking in views and opinions of old party members.

According to him, he had joined the Morcha on 13 Jan 2021. "I have submitted my resignation letter and the party flag to the central committee vice-president, Bishal Chhetri," Mr Chhetri said.

Asked by reporters as to what he plans to do now, he said that he would be focusing more on social service. "I will never join any other political party henceforth," he said.

Mirik Sub-divisional Committee President of the Gurung camp Suman Rai, on the other hand, said Mr Chhetri did not lay blame on Mr Gurung and that had he respected Mr Gurung's ideology or worked truly for the community, he should not have taken such decisions for personal reasons.
